01
Phone Triage
When you call +14195820227, we ask what the smell is, when it started, and whether anyone feels dizzy or nauseous. If it sounds like a gas leak, we tell you to leave the house and call the utility first. Otherwise we book a same-day window.
02
On-Site Sniff Test
The tech starts at the supply registers and works back to the furnace. They check the furnace filter, the blower compartment, and the inducer motor area. This takes about 15 minutes and usually narrows the source to one of three zones.
03
Instrument Testing
We use a combustion analyzer on the flue, a manometer on the pressure switch, and a multimeter on the flame sensor and thermocouple. A clamp meter checks the blower motor amp draw. These readings tell us whether the smell is combustion-related or mechanical.
04
Repair And Replacement
Once we identify the fault, we quote the repair before we start. Common fixes include a new flame sensor, a cleaned heat exchanger, a replacement gas valve, or a new inducer motor. Most parts are on the truck, so the repair happens the same visit.
05
Safety Test And Report
After the repair, we run the furnace through two full cycles and re-test with the combustion analyzer. We check for carbon monoxide at the supply registers. You get the readings, the parts list, and the warranty in writing before we pack up.
